Ruthann has been referred to as a vocalist extraordinaire with the character of
‘the girl next door’. Ruthann shows a bubbly and friendly personality. She brings with her a calm and non-judgmental outlook when working with her peers and students. Ruthann displays strength in her powerful vocal ability and attributes this from her numerous band experiences throughout the years, such as shown in performing in ‘SOUL’D’; a thirteen piece Motown band. Ruthann possesses a huge vocal range and years of experience and versatility of a myriad genre including; jazz, rock, country rock, contemporary music, r&b, funk, and blues.
Her experiences include performing ‘cabaret’ in many venues around NSW, touring Australia in a contemporary rock band while supporting Midnight Oil, Renee Geyer and many others.
Ruthann has created businesses in bands such as ‘Night Chill II’ (a rock band), ‘Fossil Groove’ (a funk band) and her duo ‘Midas Touch’. While studying a contemporary music diploma at The Northern Rivers Conservatorium, she performed in The Northern Rivers Conservatorium Big Band.
Ruthann has completed a Bachelor of Contemporary Music Degree at Southern Cross University, as well as a Graduate Diploma of Education.
Ruthann uses a classical teaching approach and has been teaching singing (beginners to advanced) for 35 years. Many of her students are continuing in their singing careers, some have gained the confidence to complete a degree in music and others have the confidence to gain main parts in acting, such as ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’.
