Bachelor of Arts in Contemporary Music (Performance) Southern Cross University. Graduated with a High Distinction average in
Performance and Theory. Studied drums with Steve Hopes (Crossfire/Renee Geyer), David Sanders (Grace Knight/Rodriguez), David Jones (Pyramid)
Scott is a highly qualified teacher of all genres of drum set performance.

Based in the Northern Rivers he has held drum set teaching positions at SCU UNI, Northern Rivers Conservatorium, various Schools and Colleges for over 20 years, conducted workshops, clinics in drum set performance, small ensemble and rhythm reading. Passionate about his music, Scott has become known Australia wide as a highly sort after accompanist both live and in the recording studio, known for his versatility in all genres. He has played on over 200 albums, over 20 so far in 2020.

His performing/recording credits include: John Williamson, Candi Staton (USA), Troy Cassar-Daley, Kristina Olsen (USA), Davey Knowles (USA), The McClymonts, Vanetta Fields (USA), Melinda Schneider, Travis Collins, Adam Brand, The Flood, Crossfire, Sara Storer, Adam Harvey, Beccy Cole, Gina Jeffires, Amber Lawrence, Jimmy Little, Ross Hannaford (Daddy Cool), Fred Eaglesmith (Canada), Barry Crocker, Shannon Noll, Casey Barnes, Brad Butcher,
Tania Kernaghan and many others.

Scott has won a Golden Guitar Award with his band The Flood for “Best Group”. The Flood was also nominated for an ARIA award in 2007 for “Best Blues and Roots Album”. Since 2002 Scott has been the drummer for Award-winning Australian songwriter Graeme Connors playing on all of his national tours.

From 2008- 2016 he was a member of the backing band for Telstra Road to Discovery songwriter program which included a national tour as the support act for Bon Jovi’s Australian tour in 2013) Within his local live music scene on the Far North Coast of NSW, Scott is very active amongst the jazz scene as well as a variety of other styles. Artists over the years include: The Cath Simes Band, Jim Kelly’s Thrillseekers, Greg Lyon’s Hipoperation, Elizabeth Lord, Leigh
James, Juzzy Smith, Hudibrastic Funk, Kirk Lorange, Jo Jo Smith Band, Aaron West and The Custodians, The Feramones, Chris Fisher, Jack Thorncraft, Leigh Carriage, Laura Nobel and many others.

Scott has over 25 years of drum tutoring experience and has taught over 500 drummers many whom have gone on to have successful careers within the Music Industry. EXPERIENCE

Carl Georg was born in Sydney, Australia and currently lives on Tweed Coast of NSW. His interest in drumming started around the age of 12 with early influences such as Chad Smith from the Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Derrick McKenzie of Jamiroquai and Danny Carey of Tool. He started taking drum lessons around the age of 14 and was involved in high school musicals, choirs and school bands. Later he went on to complete a Bachelor of Music majoring in drums. His musical horizons were broadened during his time at university and his interest in many other musical styles grew, such as Jazz, Latin, Blues, Funk, Rnb.

Carl started playing guitar in 1998 under the tutelage of Neil McCann. Although drums is his primary instrument Carl also has a passion for the guitar citing early influences as Tommy Emmanuel, Dimebag Darrell of Pantera and Adam Jones of Tool. His styles range from rock, heavy metal, funk, blues and RnB. Carl also studied guitar as an elective whilst completing his Bachelor of Music at Southern Cross University.

Carl has a passion for music and sharing it with others. He is a versatile player that can fit into any musical style or situation. He’s been privileged to play with some of Australia’s best artists in the Northern Rivers and Byron Bay regions. He’s performed at festivals including Woodford Folk Festival, Mullumbimby Music Festival, Island Vibe Music Festival and his playing has featured on award-winning recordings.

Simon has a Bachelor of Arts (contemporary music), SCU, Lismore NSW. Year 12 Certificate, Dickson College, Canberra ACT. AMEB 5th grade Clarinet, Canberra ACT.

In his highlights with drums, Simon has participated in Nirvana World Tour support act 1992, ANU Refectory, Canberra ACT, Opening act at the inaugural The Big Day Out concert, Hordern Showground, Sydney NSW, and Modern Jazz performance 1989, Southern Cross Club, Canberra ACT. In Clarinet, he has participated in Hip-Hop performance, Great Northern Hotel, Byron Bay NSW, and CYO Symphonic Band Principal, Canberra ACT.

EXPERIENCE

James was 13 years old when he started getting lessons from renowned Canberra drummer Carl Witty. After finishing Year 12 in 1984 he was accepted into the Preparatory Jazz Course at the prestigious Canberra School of Music. He went on to complete the Diploma in Jazz Studies in 1989 becoming one of the top students.

He learned from the best tutors in Canberra, namely Colin Hoorweg, George Urbaszek, Dave Kain, Harold Luebke, John Black, Tony Hayes, Mike Price and Don Johnson.
He moved to Sydney in 1991 and joined Greg Sheehan in Utungun Percussion – a legendary five-piece roaming percussion group that performed at Sydney Festival, WOMAD, Singapore Festival, Woodford Folk Festival, Calgary Festival and The National Folk Festival.

In 1998, James was part of the Australian delegation sent to Monte Carlo, helping Sydney win the right to host the 2000 Olympics.
Along the way, James also performed with Stalker Theatre Company that toured Europe in the year 2000. He also toured with the Leigh Warren Dance Company to Japan and South Australia, and with the Great Bowing Company to Taiwan.
During his time in Sydney, James performed with an amazing array of musical talent such as David Fanshwe (African Sanctus), John Paul Young, Jackie Orszaczky, Toni Nation, Archie Roach, Brassov, Ruthless, Skunkhour and Juice.

He recorded a children’s album with George Spartels from ABC’s Playschool. He also recorded advertisements for Bonds Briefs, Pine Furniture and Amnesty International.
In 2005, James moved to Byron Bay and toured with local legend Lisa Hunt. He quickly established his professionalism and became one of the most sought after musicians in the area, performing with Brisbane band Kingfisha and touring with Saritah in Korea.

His versatility enabled him to play with the best bands in the Northern Rivers such as reggae group Fyah Walk, blues group Matt Hanley Trio, Gypsy group Shakshuka, Latin band Diaspora Latino, electronic band Cyberbass, jazz band Sunrise Trio and folk artist Jodi Martin.

He’s currently performing with top local bands like the Bohemian Cowboys and Jaffer, that features Luke Ferguson and Matt Day.
James is recording and producing his own music and will have it released by the end of 2020.
